Featured Project: First Floor Bay Window Panels, incredible custom SIP panels!
|DAY 3, The custom SIP Panels installation of the SIP bay windows.
This is one of these best examples of how detailed you can get even when framing with Custom SIP Panels. While very intricate, three men with no previous SIP experience were able assemble the numbered parts to result in the image you see above. DAY (3)
Day 3 came with more panel sorting and the install of the Kitchen bay window area. As you can see in the image, this section had more 45 degree angles and the crew had to rip down some filler materials to complete this complicated section of panels. Although we do our best to pre-cut the filler material and angles, with the unknown placement of bottom plates, it becomes necessary to make adjustments on the site to complete as needed.
Please keep in mind that if you’re building with SIPs, it’s critical to make sure that your sub-floors or concrete pads and bottom plates are straight and level. These areas of construction can make a huge difference when installing SIP panels. SIPs are not at all forgiving.
We’ll be returning to the job site in the next few weeks to consult and oversee the install of the roof panels on the “SIP Monster.”
